Julia Matlin is an associate at Mantel McDonough Riso, LLP. Julia provides comprehensive legal representation for individuals and families across all areas of matrimonial and family law. Prior to joining the firm, Julia was an associate at Feuerstein Kulick where she practiced commercial litigation. She has extensive experience in conducting depositions, drafting legal documents and developing litigation strategies.
Ms. Matlin graduated cum laude from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was an active member of the Moot Court Honor Society. She also served as a student mediator in the Divorce Mediation Clinic, and interned for The Legal Aid Society’s Homicide Defense Task Force. Ms. Matlin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Legal Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Ms. Matlin is an active member of the New York State Bar Association and is licensed to practice in New York.
Ashira Pollack is an associate at Mantel McDonough Riso, LLP in the matrimonial department. While in law school, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Gerald Lebovits in Part 7 of the New York State Supreme Court. She also was an Editor of the International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Team, which culminated in Ms. Pollack traveling to London with the team to coach them in a competition.
Ms. Pollack received her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 2024, where she was an Editor for the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media, and Entertainment Law Journal. She received her undergraduate degree from Yeshiva University in 2021, graduating summa cum laude.
Michelle Katz is an Associate at Mantel McDonough Riso, LLP, practicing in the area of family and matrimonial law. Ms. Katz earned her J.D. from Hofstra University Maurice A. Deane School of Law, where she centered her legal education on family law, and her undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University.
During law school, Ms. Katz served as a Notes Editor for the Family Court Review, overseeing the editing of student notes on a variety of family law topics. Additionally, throughout law school, Ms. Katz interned with several judges in the Nassau County Supreme Court Matrimonial Center, where she gained exposure to matrimonial proceedings and judicial decision-making. In her final year, she also served as a student attorney in the Hofstra Youth Advocacy Clinic, representing youth in both family and immigration court proceedings.
Prior to joining the MMR, Michelle represented clients in a wide range of matrimonial and family law matters at a mid-sized New York City firm.
